Build: Your Strengths & Weaknesses
This page helps you turn everything you’ve learned about strengths and weaknesses into clear, structured talking points. You’ll prepare 3 strengths and 2 weaknesses using a simple, scannable and reusable format.
Introduction
You've now learned how to:
Use phrasal verbs to discuss strengths and weaknesses
Now it's time to prepare your own talking points and write them in a way thats easy to refer to before and during the interview.
Task 1: Strengths
Prepare 3 strengths.
For each one, note down:
a short supporting
a clear result or outcome
Write your notes in a format that is easy to scan.
Then, before each interview, you only need to think about how to link the strength to the specific role.
Example
Strength | Example | Result |
|---|---|---|
Process improvement | Automated weekly data validation using Python | Saved ~4 hrs/week manual work + less errors |
Knowledge of Brazilian market | Worked as PM at Brazil's leading food delivery platform | Deep understanding of local buying patterns and user behaviour |
💡 Remember to use phrasal verbs when possible
Task 2: Weaknesses
Prepare 2 weaknesses.
For each one, include:
A brief example or context
How you’re improving it
Again, keep it structured and easy to scan.
Example
Weakness | Example | Improvement + Result |
|---|---|---|
Asking for help too late | Used to push through issues for too long on my own | Built a rule: if no progress after a set time, document attempts and reach out |
💡 Remember to use phrasal verbs when possible
Task 3: Frame Weakness
Choose one weakness from your table above, and frame it into a past behaviour that you are improving using the structure below to guide you.
This will form your full interview response to a question like, "What is your weakness?"
I've noticed that sometimes I ________________
for example, I used to _____________________.
To work on this, I have been ___________________
As a result, _________________________.
