Prove Your Strengths

Learn how to structure your strengths using a simple 3-step framework: clearly state the skill, support it with real context, and link it directly to the company’s needs. This is how you move from vague claims to convincing, role-focused answers.

Introduction

Now that you’ve chosen 2–3 strengths, the next step is to convince the interviewer that you genuinely have these skills.

Weak answers sound like a long list: “I have good time management and communication skills, I have deep technical knowledge, I am reliable and hardworking…"

It’s easy to say you’re good at something. What really matters is showing it through examples.

You also need to explain how your strengths will benefit the team or this specific role.

For example, you might have strong experience working in startups. But if this role is in a large corporation, you need to clearly explain how that experience translates and adds value in this environment.

Answer Structure

For each strength, you should:

  1. State Strength
    Clearly define the skill

One of my key strengths is my deep knowledge of the Brazilian market and how users engage with food delivery apps.

  2. Give context
Briefly explain an example or give more detail.

From my previous role as a PM at one of Brazil’s leading platforms, I gained a strong understanding of how buying patterns and support habits differ from European users.

  3. Link to the role
Show how your strength would benefit this specific company or position.

Since you're looking to expand into Brazil, I can bring this market knowledge to the team from day one and help shape a product experience that aligns with users.

Notice how this is much more solid and powerful than a general claim like "I know a lot about the Brazilian market and I'm good at sharing knowledge with my team."

On top of this, I’m also very comfortable working in fast-paced environments.

I began my career as an early hire in a startup, where I had to learn quickly and take ownership without a lot of structure.

Not only am I experienced working in dynamic teams, but I really enjoy seeing fast progress, and it sounds like the kind of environment you’re scaling in now.
